TANISHA D. CAROTHERS
Tanisha D. Carothers is the principal attorney at T. Carothers Law Offices located in Evansville, Indiana. As a licensed attorney, she vigorously advocates for her clients in Vanderburgh and other Indiana counties. She specializes in criminal defense, family law, business law, personal injury, and post-conviction expungement relief.

Tanisha holds a Juris Doctorate from the IU Robert H. McKinney School of Law and is a proud alum of the historically black college, Tennessee State University where she received a Bachelor of Science in Sociology.

While attending law school, she worked at the largest law firm in Southwest Indiana gaining valuable knowledge and expertise. Subsequently, Tanisha worked as a certified legal intern for both the Marion County and the Vanderburgh County Prosecutors’ Office gaining a wealth of experience as she served as 2nd chair in major felony proceedings, researched criminal law, deposed victims and witnesses, negotiated plea agreements and prepared/filed motions.

As one who believes in the constitutional right “justice for all”, she passionately defends her client’s rights to a fair and equitable justice system. Recognized in her professional career and personal life as a champion for justice and diversity, Attorney Carothers serves on the Access to Justice Committee and the Diversity and Inclusion Committee of the Evansville Bar Association.

Tanisha’s passion for equal access to legal representation and her public interest drives her work at the Vanderburgh Co Public Defender’s Office and the Legal Aid Society. It is her pride and joy to be able to bridge the gap for those less fortunate who otherwise would not have access to skilled and competent representation.
